When self slowly drifts away,

Into a world of thinking and worry,

Rocking in the stormy sea of an endless battle,

Take a deep breath and breathe,

Feel the air glide through your lungs,

Enriching your beating heart,

Take a deep breath and breathe,

Feel the ground beneath your feet,

The sturdy feel of being grounded,

Take a deep breath and breathe,

For this is a reminder to be present,

Be in the now and be aware of what is and what’s not,

The changeable and the unchanged,

Focus on your next step,

What can be and what can’t,

And remind self yet again,

That everything will be okay,

Look up to the Light and strive on dear pilgrim,

Striving to improve self,

Undoing flaws, strengthening values,

For remember you are becoming,

Experiencing and unfolding,

Hold not too tight to mistakes,

But learn the lessons and march on,

Whispering to the listening ears of the Universe,

For help, as you stride on,

For you are becoming.
